and present.....

Our links with the Hackney have remained strong and we have continued to breed and judge etc. During the past 12 years years we have been mainly crossing Welsh Mountain Ponies and Dutch Warm Bloods with Hackneys to produce grey performance horses and ponies but our main interest during this time had been our Labradors.

In 2004 we met Mr Peter Luyten from Australia, Rama Fox Terriers, an International All Breeds judge and also a registered Hackney judge. We had long discussions about Hackney ponies and decided, in partnership, to import two in foal mares from the Heartland stables in America. In the late 1800's and early 1900's American breeders had purchased some of our very best bloodlines and it is our belief that some of those pure bloodlines will benefit our Hackney pony of today.

In December 2005, Heartland Sweet Elite and Heartland Starina arrived safely and they both foaled the following May. Starina producing a colt foal by Heartland Hi Tech and Elite a filly by Heartland Equality. This year they have been covered by Westbourne Whizz Kid, English/American, who we have recently exported to Australia .
